WHAT IS ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) uses the science of learning and behavior to help individuals lead independent, successful lives. Through a data-driven approach, our Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians teach individuals how to navigate their everyday situations. Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians teach skills that are important to clients, families and communities. These skills are referred to as “socially significant behavior” and they describe actions that directly impact a person’s quality of life. Socially significant behavior typically falls under one or more of the following categories:

WHO WE ARE

Dedicated to improving lives

Kind Behavioral Health (KBH) is dedicated to improving the lives of children with autism, their families, and their surrounding communities. We believe in a collaborative approach, where caregivers share expertise about their child and our clinicians share expertise about how individuals learn the skills to have a successful, happy life. Every individual and every family is unique, each deserving care that is individually tailored to meet their unique needs and goals.

Our clinicians serve as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and collaborate with Licensed Psychologists.
  • BCBAs are Masters or Doctoral-level clinicians with extensive training in ABA. Their role is to identify the most important skills for a client to learn, collaborate with a Licensed Psychologist to develop and continually modify an individualized program, provide training to all team members, and monitor progress.
  • Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are clinicians with training in ABA who work with clients directly and implement the individualized programs designed by the BCBA. They offer valuable insight into your child’s progress.

WHAT WE DO

Proud to serve families

  • Comprehensive (35 hours per week of direct services)
  • Focused (15-25 hours per week of direct services)
  • Social Skills Group (~15 hours per week of direct services)
  • Special Programs (comprehensive – 35 hours per week – programs such as Early Intervention & Classroom Readiness)

In conjunction with services provided directly to the client, KBH regularly provides families training on:

  • Basic principles of ABA
  • Using reinforcement to maximize learning opportunities
  • Maintaining learned behaviors and generalizing skills across settings/contexts
  • And other behavioral topics relevant to your child’s needs
